Our eye muscles and eyesight tend to degenerate as we age. Our optometrist will test for eye conditions such as cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. Recommended for adults once every 6 months to 1 year, especially for those age 40 and above.

What to Expect:
1) Understanding Your Needs
Our optometrist will engage you in a questionnaire to understand your vision history, your professional and lifestyle needs, before recommending suitable vision solutions for your condition.
2) Objective & Subjective Refraction
A series of tests will be conducted for the diagnosis of common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia and astigmatism.
3) Tonometry
Non-contact tonometry is a test for intraocular pressure (the fluid pressure inside the eye). It is an important test in the evaluation of patients at risk of glaucoma.
4) Cataract Screening
A cataract is a condition where the lens of the eye is clouded with opacity. This causes light entering the eye to be scattered such that the lens can no longer focus properly, causing vision problems.
5) Slit Lamp
Our optometrist will use the slit lamp to examine all areas of your eye, including the eyelids, conjunctiva, iris, lens, sclera, cornea, retina, optic nerve.
6) Fundus Photography
Funduscopy, also known as ophthalmoscopy, is used to screen for possible retinal disorders such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and optic nerve problems. It is a simple and non-invasive test.
7) Amsler Grid
This test is used to detect vision problems resulting from damage to the macula or the optic nerve.
8) Dry Eye Assessment
Tear breakup time (TBUT) is a clinical test used to assess for evaporative dry eye disease.
9) Results & Recommendations
Our eye care professional will explain the results of your comprehensive eye condition and provide suitable recommendations for vision solutions such as spectacles, sunglasses or contact lenses. Referral to an ophthalmologist may be made if necessary.
