Essilor Stellest 2.0 Official Launch in Singapore: Supporting Children’s Vision from an Earlier Stage
Our Raylite team was recently honoured to receive the Essilor Stellest Myopia Leadership Award 2026, and had the opportunity to attend the official Singapore launch of Essilor Stellest 2.0 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre on 31 March 2026.
The event brought together eye care practitioners from across the industry, with presentations by the research and development team as well as panel discussions among clinicians. The sessions focused on how current research is shaping the way myopia is understood and managed in children today.

Insights from research and clinical discussions
A key part of the event was the sharing by the R&D representative for Stellest 2.0, who discussed how lens design continues to evolve alongside growing clinical data. The Stellest lens concept is based on the use of multiple lenslets designed to create a specific optical profile across the retina.
Rather than correcting only central vision, these designs aim to influence how light is distributed more broadly across the retina, which is an area that has been increasingly studied in myopia management.

The panel discussion also highlighted real-world considerations such as patient compliance, lifestyle habits, and the importance of consistent follow-up. These factors often play just as significant a role as the optical design itself.
Why early attention to myopia matters
One of the strongest themes from the event was the shift towards earlier stages of intervention.
There is now greater emphasis on identifying children who may be at risk of developing myopia, sometimes referred to as pre-myopia. This includes children with strong family history, higher visual demands at a young age, or early signs of progression.

Understanding these factors early allows for closer monitoring and more timely decisions when needed.

Stellest 2.0 is the latest generation of spectacle lenses designed for myopia management in children, building upon the Stellest lens concept with the introduction of H.A.L.T. MAX™ technology. The updated design reflects ongoing advancements in lens engineering, offering an option for parents exploring different approaches to managing childhood myopia.

At our optical practice, both the first generation Stellest and Stellest 2.0 lenses are available. This allows us to discuss the differences and recommend options based on each child’s individual profile.
When should parents consider an eye assessment
An eye check can be useful if a child spends extended periods on near work or screens, has a family history of myopia, or has already been prescribed glasses at a young age.
